My name is Odin Johansen. I am a proud father of two boys and a little princess.

My whife has not given up on me. She is the homeland security for our family.

The only one barking at her is our dog Elvis.

My interest in sales startet early. The dream of becomming a teacher lived in the shaddow

of executive sales for two decades. Then it turned in 2006 when I replaced a career in

international sales as a sales executive. It was time to start my own business.

​

From that point on I became a teacher in sales and customer communication. The projects varies from large international companies to small local businesses. The common factor for my customers is that they all need and want to improve their sales skills.

 

I am a mentor for start ups in the Norvegian governmental innovation center and I am a certified  DiSC instructor. On my record I also have 9 start ups and 5 exits. When business must be fun I help my customers with marketing events.

Americans might mistakenly believe that Norwegians are a bit stiff. However, if so then you really do not understand us. “You may be right, we may be crazy” sang Billy Joel. However, there is nothing crazy about the Norwegian economic model.

Did you know that the technological system for cell phone text messaging was invented in Norway? The city of Trondheim is known as the technological capitol of Norway and is one of only three cities in the world that has a center for such cutting-edge science. Google, Fast, and Yahoo all maintained offices in Trondheim, and major search engines annually gather in Trondheim to recruit young Norwegian talent from Norway’s Technical Nature Science University (NTNU) and The Norwegian Foundation of Industrial and Technical Research (SINTEF).

Language

To understand Norwegian decision making you need to comprehend Norwegian business culture. Norwegians conduct themselves with a certain humor of irony. Johansen is multilingual, but when you do not understand cultural context a conversation can lose its deeper meaning and magic. For example, many television commercials in Norway take humor with the nuances of our communication.  One commercial has an American seeking to purchase COOP, one of the strongest food-chains in the world.  However, COOP is owned by the people of Norway and thus cannot be purchased like a company.  Johansen can work with you in matters of unique Norwegian communication and teach you the targeted skills that you need to differentiate yourself in the region.  Further, Johansen is ready and willing to join you at meetings working along your side to ensure your success.

A proud, rich and beautiful country

Norwegians are very proud of their beautiful country. Some foreigners expect to see polar bears in the streets; such sightings are seldom unless you are far north. The length of Norway is equal to much of North America, and just like the United States our seasons vary; we have both a beautiful summer in south and ice-cold winter in the north (where you also can experience the ‘midnight sun’).  While traveling in Norway one will encounter a rich history stemming back over 1000 years, such as the renowned live act of the Christening you can se live in Stiklestad every summer.  From the ancient fisher villages in Kristiansand in south, to the Samer and their reindeer farming in Karasjokk up north you can have an adventure throughout our beautiful country.

Scandinavia and the Nordic countries

Our neighbor Sweden, well known for their plane Jas Gripen, their cars Saab and Volvo, and Ericsson electronics (Sony Ericsson) share the same language, culture, and currency as Norway.  It is only a one hour flight.  Denmark with Copenhagen and Amsterdam are also popular weekend destinations for social Norwegians and visitors.  In addition, Eastern Europe, such as Poland, Latvia, and Bulgaria is increasing in popularity with regional travelers.  Many Norwegians even now frequent St. Petersburg in Russia.  Regional travel is of course beautiful and very affordable.

The goal for our meeting is that your basic communication skills improves. When we are done you bring home something you can use immediately to create positive effect with your customers or with yourself. You will learn techniques from different well known programs based on research. You will learn how to start and end an effective conversation. You will learn how to choose your style but still keep your identity. You will develop an understanding why you are like you are and how you can reach your goals without help from others.
